IALR Careers


The Institute for Advanced Learning & Research (IALR) is developing and attracting technology and talent critical to Southside Virginia's economic transformation through strategic research, advanced learning programs, commercial opportunity development, community outreach programs, and technology infrastructure development. In 2002, the IALR was constituted as a subdivision of state government and is led by a fifteen person Board of Trustees. The IALR's partners include Virginia Tech, Averett University, Danville Community College, Future of the Piedmont Foundation, Pittsylvania County, City of Danville, the local K-12 school systems, and other program partners. The IALR's 93,000 square foot facility includes space for college-credit course instruction, Virginia Tech sponsored research, and the Institute Conference Center, featuring state-of-the-art meeting and lecture rooms.
