NanoScIEnce: It's No Small Thing
Instruction for Educators
|
The focus of this program is on nanoscience and nanotechnology, two of the hottest fields in research. This program is made possible by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education and is directed toward all K-12 Math, Science, IT Educators and Guidance Counselors.
Summer Programs
The one-day programs provide an intense look at age appropriate ways to introduce the topic of nanoscience to the different educational levels. Middle and high School educators will focus on more complex properties of the nanoworld, like self assembly, nanomachines, and nanostructures. The elementary educators will focus on different ways of introducing scale to students and how to see things that aren’t visible with our eyes. Each program will provide take-away items to help illustrate these concepts to students in the classroom.
One-day Seminar: June 23, 2009 – Middle and High School Educators 8:00am - 4:00pm Limited to 20 educators
