| Grades 7-9 | 8:30 am – 4 pm

Students will participate in an Innovation Challenge to create their own prototype. By incorporating hands-on innovations, students will be exposed to advanced manufacturing techniques to include prototyping and robotics. Students will also explore the business of moving from a design phase, to product fabrication, to mass production. Students will work in a computer lab learning CAD and Solidworks and be challenged to think ‘out of the box.’ Field trips to local manufacturing companies will be included. The week’s culminating activity will include presentations by students on their Innovation Challenge designs.

Camp meets at RCATT - 121 Slayton Ave - Just below IALR...

Limited to the first 16 that register and pay.

What’s the big deal with nanoscience? Think of the smallest thing you can make. A tiny paper airplane? A knot in a string? Now think of making something millions of times smaller. That’s what nanotechnology is about. This two-day camp will focus on the smallest technology around. Students will use microscopes learn about sites unseen, build Buckyballs, and discover a world made up of nanomaterials.

Limited to the first 20 that register and pay.

Brick Lab CampWelcome to the world of BrickLab®! Hands-on building topics will include Construction Engineering, Mathematics, Communication, and Physics. Students will discover architectural forms and structures such as a Greek temple and a pyramid. Students will also experiment with different types of motion and forces of Newton’s laws of motion and the effects of friction. Students will build models, design experiments and solve problems in a challenging and fun atmosphere!
