About our partnership with Dan River Region Collaborative
The Institute for Advanced Learning and Research provides project management services and serves as the fiscal agent for the Dan River Region Collaborative (DRRC).The DRRC was founded in 2008 to address workforce development in the Dan River Region of Virginia. Utilizing a sector strategy approach, the Collaborative promotes regional partnerships of employers, educators, workforce developers and other stakeholders to address the skills needs of regional employers. Within the industry partnerships, the Collaborative’s efforts focus on capacity building, systems change and policy advocacy.
IALR’s Advanced Learning department aims to strengthen the community’s workforce and ensure it is recognized through highly respected designations. Such examples include the partnership with the Dan River Region Collaborative to earn the ACT Certified Work Ready Community (CWRC) recognition and the National Career Readiness Certification (NCRC) program. See the CWRC and NCRC webpage for more information.
