Decorating the Trees for a Cause Goes Virtual

This year the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research (IALR) is celebrating the holidays with two exciting events for the community! First, our Decorating the Trees for a Cause event will continue for the 11^th year but a with a new twist … a virtual submission and voting experience. Second, we’re introducing a Holiday Tree Raffle to present one lucky winner with a fully decorated designer tree, compliments of Commonwealth Home Health Care. And both events benefit charity. Read below for details on how to participate.

Decorating the Trees Goes Virtual

As in years past, each tree is sponsored by a business or organization and will represent a cause or charity of choice.* Simply submit a photo of your decorated tree to be added to a virtual showcase. The voting experience will be hosted on IALR’s Facebook wall and will provide charities a chance to win a $2,000 donation check.

*Must be a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.

Submission Deadline & Details

The completed registration form and ONE photo per business/organization must be submitted by Wednesday, November 18, 2020.

Recommended file type and size: minimum 1,200 pixels wide jpeg

Once the voting period begins, photos cannot be resubmitted.

A photo gallery will be created for the trees and will be pinned to the top of IALR’s Facebook wall for the duration of the voting period.

Voting Period

Monday, November 30 (9 a.m.) – Friday, December 18 (4 p.m.)

Winner is determined by the number of likes* and will receive a $2,000 donation check for their charity of choice.
*IALR Facebook likes only

IALR will promote the program through social media, email marketing and PSAs.

Businesses and organizations may promote through in-house, online and social media that points them to IALR’s Facebook page.
