Darrell Buchanan serves as a Welding Instructor for the Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing (ATDM) Program. In this role, Buchanan works with students to help them obtain the technical knowledge and hands-on skills needed for a welding career in the defense industry. Prior to joining the ATDM Program, Buchanan worked at Jarrett Welding and Machine, where his tasks consisted of travel welding on structural and defense contracts for Barrier 1 Systems; after Jarrett Welding, he worked at Pittsylvania County Schools as a welder and maintenance technician. Darrell has a two-year Pittsylvania Career and Technical Center welding certificate and holds Multiple AWS welding Certifications from Danville Community College (DCC).
