Linda Hutson Green, Vice President of Economic Development at the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research and Executive Director of the Southern Virginia Regional Alliance (SVRA), brings extensive federal, state and local experience. Green utilizes IALR’s resources to support regional economic development, having helped create 28 new industries and 31 expansions, over 5,300 jobs and $1.5 billion in investment over the past six years.
Her diverse career includes roles as District Director for U.S. Congressman Robert Hurt, Director at the Center for Innovative Technology, and Executive Director of the Virginia Research and Technology Advisory Commission. She also served as President of the Dan River Business Development Center and as a Quality Engineer at Goodyear.
Appointed by Governor Glenn Youngkin to the Commonwealth Transportation Board in 2023, Green is the Immediate Past President of the Virginia Economic Developers Association and serves on Averett University’s board. She was named one of Virginia’s Women Business Leaders by Virginia Business in 2023.
A Certified Quality Engineer, Green holds an MBA from Duke University and degrees from Averett University and Danville Community College.
