Yolanda Mounkaila joined IALR in 2023 as the Center for Manufacturing Advancement (CMA) Information Desk Specialist. Prior to her current position, she spent 10 years as a Self-Sufficiency Specialist II in the Employment Services Unit in the Pittsylvania County Department of Social Services (DSS). While employed at Pittsylvania County DSS, she was a member of the Project Discovery Board, Re-Entry Council Committee with Probation/Parole & the Family Re-Unification Program, and the Pittsylvania County Adult Ed. Program. Previously, she worked as a Case Manager with the Workforce Career Center in Danville for eight years.
Mounkaila studied Human Services at Radford University and is a graduate of the 2008 Leadership Southside Program from the Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce. In 2010, she became a Certified Workforce Development Professional, and she completed the Career Coach program with the Virginia Community College Systems in 2020. She is a proud parent of a United States Air Force Veteran. Mounkaila’s hobbies include traveling and attending concerts and sports games.
