More than 1,100 guests gathered at the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research (IALR) Conference Center over two nights in March for a shared purpose: supporting disaster relief efforts while experiencing the scale, precision and hospitality of a premier event venue.
God’s Pit Crew hosted its annual benefit banquets March 20 and 21 at the IALR Conference Center, welcoming attendees to the Great Hall for two large-scale evenings focused on fundraising, storytelling and impact. The events highlighted the organization’s mission while also showcasing the Conference Center’s ability to execute complex, high-capacity gatherings.

“Being able to host two large-scale events each year with the IALR team is a blessing, and we look forward to the incredible experiences still to come,” said Jarrett Johnson, vice president of operations for God’s Pit Crew. “We would encourage anyone who hasn’t been able to yet to make plans to attend one of the upcoming God’s Pit Crew events at IALR for a great time they won’t soon forget.”
As a nonprofit disaster relief organization, God’s Pit Crew relies heavily on donations to fund its work responding to natural disasters across the country. The annual benefit banquets serve as a major fundraising opportunity, while also giving attendees a firsthand look at how the organization provides help and hope to communities in crisis.
“The IALR Conference Center is a great venue to have here in our local community and provides a great option to host state-of-the-art events and welcome guests to the region while sharing the God’s Pit Crew mission of providing help and hope to others when it’s needed most,” Johnson said. “The staff at IALR are beyond welcoming and help plan and execute all of the logistics with excellence.”

“We’re incredibly proud to host an event of this size and significance, especially one that supports such an important mission,” said Tracy Fink, vice president of the IALR Conference Center. “The God’s Pit Crew benefit banquets are a powerful showcase of the Conference Center’s ability to support large, highly customized events with flexibility and care.”
A venue built for scale and flexibility
The Great Hall serves as the anchor space for the IALR Conference Center and is designed to adapt to each event’s vision. Clients can take advantage of the Conference Center’s built-in lighting, audiovisual technology and staging for a seamless, plug-and-play experience — or fully transform the space with custom décor, production and branding.
For their annual benefit banquets, God’s Pit Crew chose to bring in their own design elements and production components, working closely with the Conference Center team to execute a highly customized setup. The collaboration enables the organization to create an immersive environment that reflects its mission while leveraging the Great Hall’s infrastructure to support the scale and logistics of the event.

With more than 8,400 square feet, 30-foot ceilings, integrated technology, and flexible layouts, the Great Hall can host everything from formal banquets and receptions to conferences, trade shows and keynote events.
