The Manufacturing Advancement division of the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research (IALR) focuses on economic transformation of the region by maximizing partnership opportunities that allow us to meet existing and future needs of industry. Located on the campus of IALR, the Center for Manufacturing Advancement (CMA) is the destination for innovative manufacturers ready to optimize their operations and scale. With state-of-the-art facilities, the CMA is a leading hub with rapid-launch space, a CNC Machining Innovation Lab, an Industry 4.0 Integration Lab, and a Metrology/Quality Inspection (QI) Lab.
ROLE IN THE ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING CENTER OF EXCELLENCE (AM COE)
IALR provides post-processing services in the AM CoE. These post-processing operations include CNC machining, saw cutting, and processing of test samples. IALR will also utilize the CMA ISO-certified Metrology Lab to inspect components and produce measurement reports. Measurement requirements will be conducted in collaboration with Mitutoyo.
