Chad Roach is the Operational Assets Manager for the Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing (ATDM) program, which is housed at IALR. A Tunstall High School graduate, he completed the Precision Machining program at Danville Community College (DCC), which laid the foundation for a strong career in advanced manufacturing.
Roach has worked as a Machinist and Programmer while contributing to the Submarine Industrial Base. He holds a Journeyman’s card in Precision Machining and Lean Six Sigma Yellow and Green Belt certifications, reflecting his focus on efficiency and process improvement. He is also a member of VAPPA (Virginia Chapter of APPA), connecting with facilities leaders across the Commonwealth to support educational infrastructure and operations.
In addition to his role at IALR, Roach owns and operates RA Machine Shop, which further demonstrates his commitment to precision, quality, and hands-on manufacturing experience.
