Cheryl Terry joined IALR as the Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing (ATDM) Deputy Director of Technology and Training. Terry is a native of Halifax, Virginia. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems and an MBA with a focus on Electronic Commerce from the University of Dallas. She is currently pursuing a doctorate.
Cheryl worked in the Information Technology field in Texas for 17 years in project management, systems support, and programming for web-based applications. She returned to Virginia in 2002, where she taught high school mathematics and worked as an adjunct instructor, teaching mathematics and accounting.
Before joining IALR, she worked for Danville Community College (DCC) from 2004 to 2023, serving in numerous roles. Terry also served a four-year term as an elected School Board member for District 4 in Halifax, VA.
