Joel Nester assumed the role of ATDM Industry Engagement Coordinator for the Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing (ATDM) program in 2024. His primary focus is building relationships with suppliers in the Defense and maritime industries to address these sectors’ workforce shortages. Before joining the ATDM program, Nester had a successful career in higher education, serving Averett University as Director of Admissions and later as Director of Alumni and Constituent Relations.
Nester holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (2000) and an MBA (2012), both from Averett University. He enjoys watching sports, playing golf, and fishing outside of work.
