Jonathan Mercer serves as the 2nd Shift manager for the Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing (ATDM) program. Jonathan joined ATDM as an instructor in 2024, where he helped develop students into effective machinists ready to join the rapidly growing needs of the Marine and Submarine Industrial Bases. Prior to joining ATDM, he completed his journeyman machinist apprenticeship through Norfolk Naval Shipyard. Jonathan is an ATDM graduate and holds multiple industry certifications as well as a bachelor’s degree in psychology through Longwood University.
