Sherlina Thomas, Ph.D., MSW, is the Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing (ATDM) Assistant Director for Community Engagement & Support. With over 25 years of experience in macro and micro-level social work, the non-profit sector and academia; including program development and evaluation, curriculum development, and grant writing and management, primary and secondary school-based programming. Thomas has worked in various roles, such as a therapist, school social worker and social work administrator, MSW assistant professor, program director and social work field coordinator. Thomas is a strong community and youth advocate and, has served on many community boards and youth councils and is a member of many civic and social organizations. Thomas has a passion for student development, student retention and student success. In her free time, she enjoys watching college football, being a “football” mom for her boys, traveling, and spending time with her husband and children. She has an MSW from Florida State University and a PhD in Human Services with an emphasis on Clinical Social Work from Walden University.
