Stewart East

Stewart East is the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research’s (IALR) Senior Facilities Manager. East manages a dedicated Facilities Maintenance team that includes a broad range of expertise. Some of the areas under our scope are electrical, life safety, HVAC, plumbing, compressed air systems, lawn care, janitorial services and security of IALR’s campus, which includes seven buildings. The campus serves a variety of interests, spanning such functions as conference services, research, education, manufacturing, and leased space. East has experience in construction, fabrication, mining, chemical and machining industries. He also operates a beef cattle farm in Pittsylvania County. East graduated from Danville Community College with an associate degree in electricity and from Averett University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He is also a licensed electrician in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
