IALR’s Foundation Board recently welcomed Greg Anderson to the team. Anderson is the Vice President and Market Executive II of the South-Central Area for First Citizens Bank and will serve a three-year term.

The IALR Foundation is a non-profit corporation operated exclusively for charitable, research and educational purposes to help realize Southern Virginia as a dynamic economy where all can live and thrive.

Past projects include partial funding of the Rapid Launch Facility, which provides temporary space to industries entering or expanding in the region. Additionally, thanks to $925,000 in GO Virginia funds, the Foundation assists the Southern Virginia Regional Alliance, Virginia’s Growth Alliance and other partners as they support businesses through GO Virginia Bridge to Recovery. The Foundation also awarded $11,000 in scholarships to students continuing their education in science, technology, engineering and math, and with help from the Gene Haas Foundation, $20,000 in scholarships to advanced machining students.
